To eat and drink:

If you go to Morocco do not need to go hungry. The centuries-long links with the Mediterranean countries, Moroccan cuisine influences from Andalusia, Sicily, France and of course from the Arab and African cuisine. Abundant spices are used in Moroccan cuisine. In the souks of the country, the scents of the Orient caress our nose: fresh mint, cloves, cinnamon, paprika, curry mixes.

Besonders schmackhaft ist die Hochzeitstajine mit Lammfleischstücken, verschiedenem Gemüse sowie Pflaumen, Aprikosen und MandelnThe most famous Moroccan dishes are the Harira, a rich soup with lentils, fresh vegetables and herbs. A salad of marrocaine with onions, aromatic tomatoes, cucumbers and coriander is part of every meal. A typical main dish is the tagine. For the preparation, a clay pot with a pointed lid is used, in which the dish is slowly braised directly over the charcoal. Each restaurant has its own individual recipe. Especially tasty is the wedding tagine with pieces of lamb, various vegetables as well as plums, apricots and almonds. .

Usually you drink water or soft drinks. Beer or excellent Moroccan wine from the Meknes area is available in many restaurants. But, since we are in a Muslim country, taxed extremely. So a small beer often costs as much as the complete menu. "The a la mente" - a highly sweetened, mint tea made from fresh mint, is the national drink of the Moroccans. He is drunk on all occasions in the countless cafes of the country for sweet pastries.
